Tim Ek, Senior Pastor, has been senior pastor at churches in Blaine and Maple Grove, MN;
Dubois, PA; and Prairie Village, KS prior to coming to Deerbrook. (He was senior pastor of
Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village in the 80's.) He served 15 years as vice
president of the Evangelical Covenant Church and Director of Covenant World Relief. Tim
accepted a call to become Senior Pastor in mid-2007.
Chris Williams, Associate Pastor, was Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor at a Covenant
church in Escalon, California before coming to Deerbrook. Chris also served for two years
as a short-term missionary in Mexico and as a youth pastor intern at a Covenant church in
Colorado. He is a graduate of North Park University and North Park Seminary in Chicago,
Illinois.
Kirt Mosier, Worship Director, has served on worship teams in Grandview, Missouri and
here in Lee's Summit. Kirt is a professional musician who currently serves as the
Orchestra Director at Lee's Summit West High School. He was chosen as the Missouri
Orchestra Director of the Year in 1998 and is a member of the Missouri Orchestra
Educators Association. Kirt directs our Worship and Arts Ministry and several citywide
orchestra concert events each year. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at
the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Eddie Garlich, Youth Pastor, is the fulltime pastor of the Junior and Senior High youth
Eddie graduated from Mid-America Nazarene college with a BS in Business
Communications and a minor in Youth Ministry. He has been involved with youth ministry
for most of his adult life, counseling teens at area camps and leading small and large
group Bible studies. Eddie has a God given passion to see the next generation experience
a deeper relationship with the Lord.
Patricia Green, Children's Director, spends fulltime directing the children’s ministry and
loves working with children and their parents. Patricia had extensive experience working
with children’s programs in another church before joining our staff.
Office Staff
Emily Aadland, Office manager, Emily serves the church part-time working with
volunteers and managing the day-to-day administration of the church. Emily is in the
office from 9 to 5 Monday through Thursday.
Jim Koltveit, Operations Director, oversees the day-to-day administrative operations on a
part-time volunteer basis. Jim is usually in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Deacon Council
Deerbrook Covenant Church operates with a congregational form of government.
Deacons are elected by the congregation to serve three year terms. The Council deals
with administrative and legal matters. Council members meet monthly.

Elder Board
The Elder Board is charged with directing the spiritual values and vision of the church.
